Summit County Akron Arrests Ronald E. Powell, 20, of South Hawkins Avenue, was charged with rape, felonious assault, kidnapping to engage in sexual activity and disrupting a public service March 6 in the 1200 block of Everton Drive. Reports said Powell threw a woman to the ground, kicked her repeatedly in the head and face, then sexually assaulted her while choking her with a bandana. Police said Powell continued to punch and kick the woman, then smashed her cellular phone when she attempted to report the rape.
